Arizona Republic: “At least 29 defense attorneys have filed motions in Maricopa County Superior Court to have County Attorney Andrew Thomas and his office disqualified as prosecutors in at least 43 criminal cases. The motions claim that Thomas’ legal actions against judges and the county Board of Supervisors have made it impossible for their clients to receive fair trials. ‘It’s pretty clear that there is a pattern of tainting the jury pool and intimidating the judiciary,’ attorney Richard Gaxiola said. ‘So it was pretty clear that no one could get a fair shake in front of these judges.'”
