Arizona Republic: “Friends of Maricopa County Supervisor Don Stapley have raised about $151,000 in donations to help cover his legal fees, said Merwin Grant, who is raising money for the Stapley Legal Expense Trust. In a separate effort, Stapley is also soliciting money through letters to his supporters of his previous campaign for supervisor. Included with the letter are three editorial and opinion articles critical of the sheriff and county attorney, and published by the media.”
