Arizona Republic:  “In the yearlong string of legal suits and countersuits between the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, perhaps the greatest damage on long-term cost has been the erosion of public trust.  Just this past week, Thomas filed a criminal complaint against Gary Donahoe, presiding criminal judge of Superior Court. Thomas accuses him of bribery, hindering prosecution and obstruction of justice related to his handling of criminal investigations into county officials over the construction of a court tower in Phoenix. On Saturday, sheriff’s deputies visited the homes of several county employees asking questions about the county’s court tower project.”
