Obamacare Ends Construction of 45 Doctor-Owned Hospitals

The Weekly Standard:  “Physician Hospitals of America says that construction had to stop at 45 hospitals nationwide or they would not be able to bill Medicare for treatments.” Stopping construction at doctor-owned hospitals might not seem like the best way to boost the economy or to promote greater access and choice in health care, but that exactly what Obamacare is doing. “

See “War on Doctors,” which states:

“The Democrats’ overhaul was supposed to increase access to health care. Yet construction on 45 hospitals has been shut down due to the legislation. This is a step back, not ahead.  As part of their effort to eventually end all private health care, the Democrats placed a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that in essence shuts down construction of new physician-owned hospitals and blocks existing ones from expanding.”

Obamacare is a Government Takeover

Washington Examiner:  “Obamacare is a uniquely American government takeover of health care. Its 2,801 pages of legislation and insidious regulatory structure give the Secretary of Health and Human Services almost unlimited authority to rule over every corner of our health sector.  Here are 10 reasons why they are right that it is a government takeover of health care:”

New Poll Confirms IBD’s ’09 Finding Of Doctor Exodus Under ObamaCare

Investors Business Daily:  “When we said nearly half of U.S. doctors might close their practices or retire early rather than live under the Democrats’ health overhaul, we were heavily criticized. . . . Four in nine doctors responding to an IBD/TIPP poll sent out in August 2009 said they ‘would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement’ if Congress passed what has become known as ObamaCare. . . . Now a Merritt Hawkins survey of 2,379 doctors for the Physicians Foundation completed in August has vindicated our poll. It found that 40% of doctors said they would ‘retire, seek a nonclinical job in health care, or seek a job or business unrelated to health care’ over the next three years as the overhaul is phased in.

Obamacare Unconstitutional: A Victory for Liberty and the Constitution in Virginia

Wall St. Journal:  “Only a few months ago, the White House and its allies on the legal left dismissed the constitutional challenges to ObamaCare as frivolous, futile and politically motivated.  So much for that.  Yesterday, a federal district court judge in Virginia ruled that the health law breaches the Constitution’s limits on government power.”

Read Judge Henry E. Hudson’s legal opinion in which he found Obamacare to be unconstitutional.
