Words of Wisdom from James Madison in 1788

How fortunate we Americans are to have had a group of men as intelligent and wise as our founding fathers.  Here are some words of wisdom from James Madison published on February 27, 1788, in what is called The Federalist Number 62.  As you read consider Congress passing 1,000 plus page laws that few of the Senators and Congressmen have read, the rampant crony capitalism in Washington, the power of special interest groups like the autoworkers and teachers unions and why businesses are reluctant to make new investments and hire more employees.

“It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?

Another effect of public instability is the unreasonable advantage it gives to the sagacious, the enterprising, and the moneyed few over the industrious and uniformed mass of the people. Every new regulation concerning commerce or revenue, or in any way affecting the value of the different species of property, presents a new harvest to those who watch the change, and can trace its consequences; a harvest, reared not by themselves, but by the toils and cares of the great body of their fellow-citizens. This is a state of things in which it may be said with some truth that laws are made for the few, not for the many.

In another point of view, great injury results from an unstable government. The want of confidence in the public councils damps every useful undertaking, the success and profit of which may depend on a continuance of existing arrangements. What prudent merchant will hazard his fortunes in any new branch of commerce when he knows not but that his plans may be rendered unlawful before they can be executed? What farmer or manufacturer will lay himself out for the encouragement given to any particular cultivation or establishment, when he can have no assurance that his preparatory labors and advances will not render him a victim to an inconstant government? In a word, no great improvement or laudable enterprise can go forward which requires the auspices of a steady system of national policy.”

Democrats Unleash the IRS and Justice on Donors to their Political Opponents

Wall St. Journal:  “If at first you don’t succeed, get some friends in high places to shut your opponents up. That’s the latest Washington power play, as Democrats and liberals attack the Chamber of Commerce and independent spending groups in an attempt to stop businesses from participating in politics.  Since the Supreme Court’s January decision in Citizens United v. FEC, Democrats in Congress have been trying to pass legislation to repeal the First Amendment for business, though not for unions.”

‘One Nation’ … Under Socialism

Investors Business Daily on the recent “One Nation” rally in Washington, D.C.:  “Organizers included groups such as Code Pink, La Raza, the Communist Party USA, Democratic Socialists of America and the International Socialist Organization. . . . What do Trumka and the rally attendees offer but unbridled socialism of which ObamaCare and government takeovers of the auto and banking industries are but a first step?”

Red State:  “The Socialist moved from the halls of academia to the offices of ACORN to a pew in Chicago, and eventually all the way to the Oval Office, all the while spurred on by the heady early days of a culture-changing phenomenon in the making. In the midst of the chaos and mounting disasters, average American citizens began to object, eventually adding up to more than the sum of their parts in what has become a multi-front, 21st century clash of worldviews.”

This film has not yet been rated, but the story received a solid B+ from the White House. Catch the beginning of the end in theaters November 2010,
with the ultimate conclusion to be seen worldwide in November of 2012.

See Michelle Maklin’s story on this horrific vidoe called “The Green War on Children.”  Michelle starts with:

“Halloween isn’t for another three weeks, but environmental ghouls are on the haunt. A sadistic video released by global warming fear-mongerers reveals an inconvenient truth about eco-radicals: They despise the very children for whom they claim to be saving the planet.

In the opening scene of “No Pressure,” a four-minute short clip produced by carbon reduction activist group “10:10,” a teacher urges her elementary school charges to fight climate change by cutting their carbon emissions by 10 percent by October 10. When a few uncooperative students object, the teacher presses a red button at her desk – which immediately detonates the nay-saying children. Their heads explode in graphic, bloody detail. Skin and body parts splatter all over their horrified classmates.

Message received loud and clear: No dissent allowed, little rascals. Or else.”

Study Finds 201 Cases Where Judges Ruled U.S. Justice Department Violated Law or Ethics Rules Prosecuting Crimes

USA Today:  “Judges have warned for decades that misconduct by prosecutors threatens the Constitution’s promise of a fair trial. Congress in 1997 enacted a law aimed at ending such abuses.  Yet USA TODAY documented 201 criminal cases in the years that followed in which judges determined that Justice Department prosecutors — the nation’s most elite and powerful law enforcement officials — themselves violated laws or ethics rules.”

The Arizona Republic story called “Arizona farmer’s case highlights record of federal lawyers’ misconduct” reports on six of these abuse cases that involved Arizona residents.
