Illegal Arrest is a Gun Rights Violation that Costs City $23,000

The Morning Call:  “”The taxpayers of Allentown just got stuck with an unnecessary $23,500 tab. . . . On Oct. 6, 2008, Jerry Corliss, a law-abiding citizen who then lived in Allentown, was carrying a Glock handgun in a holster when he visited the Home Depot store . . . . Dale Stokes, an Allentown police officer, stormed into the store, detained Corliss for doing absolutely nothing illegal, searched him without a warrant and seized his pistol.”

New Jersey Man Serving 7 Years for Guns He Owned Legally

Philadelphia Daily News:  A mom “called police, but she hung up before the 9-1-1 dispatcher could answer. Police traced the call and showed up anyway, and found two handguns in the trunk of [her son’s] car.  And now Brian, her middle child, a graduate student with no prior criminal record, is serving a seven-year prison sentence for weapons charges.”

Washington Set to Control Your Light Switch

Big Government:  “Ever since this continent was electrificated, Americans have been allowed to plug anything they want into their own electrical outlet. . . . When President Bush signed The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 we saw the first limits on which appliances we can use in our homes. . . . The next step in Green won’t even require Congressional approval. The Department of Energy recently decided they have authority over appliances in your home. Energy Secretary Steven Chu recently issued five new energy efficiency standards for large appliances, and is reworking the policy to include ten new categories.”

Strip-Search USA

Investors Business Daily:  “When U.S soldiers with nail clippers and flight attendants who’ve survived breast cancer are treated as potential terrorists, you know the TSA is ‘acting stupidly.’ Yet the administration thinks everything is fine. Imagine the department of motor vehicles with cattle prods, and you’re close to the mentality exhibited by Transportation Safety Administration chief John Pistole”

See Thomas Sowell’s article called “Searches Show A Contempt For Americans” in which he says:

“No country has better airport security than Israel — and no country needs it more, since Israel is the most hated target of Islamic extremist terrorists. Yet, somehow, Israeli airport security people don’t have to strip passengers naked electronically or have strangers feeling their private parts.”
