NOAA Fiddles with Climate Data to Erase 15-Year Global Warming ‘Hiatus’

The Daily Caller: “National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists have found a solution to the 15-year ‘pause’ in global warming: They ‘adjusted’ the hiatus in warming out of the temperature record. New climate data by NOAA scientists doubles the warming trend since the late 1990s by adjusting pre-hiatus temperatures downward and inflating temperatures in more recent years. Newly corrected and updated global surface temperature data from NOAA’s [National Centers for Environmental Information] do not support the notion of a global warming ‘hiatus,’ wrote NOAA scientists in their study presenting newly adjusted climate data. To increase the rate in warming, NOAA scientists put more weight on certain ocean buoy arrays, adjusted ship-based temperature readings upward, and slightly raised land-based temperatures as well.”

Record Ice in Antartic

The Guardian: “Antarctica’s increasing sea ice restricting access to research stations. Scientists are in Tasmania for workshops on how to accurately forecast sea ice levels in the polar region, aiming to ease access and reduce shipping costs. Sea ice around Antarctica is currently at record levels for May, part of a trend of increasing ice around the frozen continent making it harder to resupply and refuel research stations.”

Obama Wants to Regulate Cow Farts

examiner.com: “An article in The Daily Caller “White House looks to regulate cow flatulence as part of climate agenda” could have been an April Fool’s joke, but sadly it is not. It seems of all of the issues facing our country and the world today, climate change stands at the top of the list as the most serious threat to humankind. New EPA regulations seek to reduce methane gas emissions from cows by twenty-five percent by the year 2020, labeling it an extremely potent greenhouse gas (if you are married you know what they mean). Taking this issue as seriously as the EPA demands we do, perhaps we should look at exactly what the (un) intended consequences of the new regulation would achieve: Reducing methane gas emissions by twenty-five percent would force farmers to reduce their livestock by twenty-five percent.”

New EPA Regs Kill Coal Powered Power Plants

Washington Post: “This month, the Environmental Protection Agency will propose standards that will establish stricter pollution limits for gas-fired power plants than coal-fired power plants . . . . the Obama administration ‘has told several industry folks that the new proposal will have a slightly higher standard for coal.’ Holmstead said the carbon capture and storage requirement will make it impossible to build new coal plants.”

Extensive peer-reviewed evidence is presented that climate change is natural and man-made influences are small. Fifteen years of flat temperatures show that the climate models are in error.
