The Associated Press reports that two groups that were seeking to obtain enough signatures on petitions to add a referendum on Arizona’s immigration law on the Arizona ballot are giving up.  Given that the majority of Arizona voters favor the new law, the groups probably feared they could not get enough signatures on their petitions and that the voters would approve the new law.
